NIS Commissions Data Centre, Customer Queuing Systems and Automatic Security Bollard

The Honourable Minister of Interior and Chairman Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) Comrade Abba Patrick Moro commissioned newly completed projects executed by the present administration of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) led by the Comptroller-General Mr. David Shikfu Parradang, OFR, mni at the Service Headquarters on the 27th January, 2015. The projects commissioned include:
 
a.      NIS Data Centre;
b.      Customer Queuing Systems;
c.      Automatic Security Bollard; and,
d.      Refurbished NIS Headquarters Passport Lounge
 
In his welcome address, the DCG in-charge of Operations and Passport Directorate Mr. Mohammad Babandede, MFR thanked the Honourable Minister of Interior Comrade Abba Moro, all the invited guests, critical stakeholders and the NIS technical partners for making out time out of their busy schedules to grace the occasion. He reeled off the importance of the projects to include security of data, orderly and fast processing of passport applications amongst others.
 
The Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI) while making his remarks welcomed all the invited guests. He stated that the NIS was among the first government agency that complied with the e-payment directive of the Federal Government in 2007. He listed also the projects to be commissioned and inferred that the NIS is committed to doing things in a new way and in line to global best practice.
The Honourable Minister in his remarks commended the initiative of the present leadership of the NIS in embarking on meaningful projects that is adding value to the lives of people. He thanked the Service providers  which includes the Messrs NewWorks Solutions Investment Ltd  a sister organization to Sockets Works (SW) Global, Online Integrated Solutions (OIS) Limited who built the Data Centre, Customer Queuing  Systems and refurbished the NIS Headquarters Passport Lounge as its corporate social responsibility and Messrs Specialized Service Group Nigeria (SSGNG) who built the Automatic Security Bollard for being reliable partners to the NIS and the Interior Ministry after which he commissioned the projects.
