·         Saying serious sanctions awaits defaulters
In continuation of the preparations for the 2015 general elections, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, CFR, NPM, NPOM, mni, during his meeting with all commanders of Police Mobile Force Squadrons, Counter Terrorism Units, and Special Protection Units at the Force Headquarters, Abuja on Tuesday, 24th March, 2015, again warned  all Police officers and men detailed for election duties to ensure they work in line with the Police Code of Ethics and international best practices, just as he called on them to display unflinching loyalty to the Federal Republic of Nigeria at all times.
The IGP warned all Police officers to be firm, meticulous and ensure that nothing untoward happens within their areas of jurisdiction during the forthcoming general elections. He further cautioned Police officers to shun any conduct capable of staining the image of the Force, as he assured of appropriate sanctions for erring personnel.
The Inspector-General of Police, however, reassures Nigerians that the Nigeria Police Force will continue to strategically adopt the best approaches in ensuring the security of lives and property as well as protecting the integrity of all elections in the country.
