National Peace Committee On 2015 General Elections Commends Nigeria Police Force For Its Professionalism

Admonished Nigerians to collaborate with the Police in tackling crime
The National Peace Committee on 2015 general elections, led by its Chairman, His Excellency Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (Rtd), GCFR former Head of State commended the Nigeria Police Force for its professionalism in its conduct at the just concluded March 28th Presidential and National Assembly elections held nationwide.
 
He stated this when the committee paid a courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. He remarked that the visit had become necessary, owing to the critical role the IGP Suleiman Abba led Police played in ensuring the overall success of the Abuja Peace Accord. He also admonished Nigerians to collaborate more with the Police in tackling crime.
 
Lending credence to the former Head of State’s remarks was John Cardinal Onaiyekan, a member of the Committee who equally appreciated the noble role played by the Police during the conduct of the last elections.
 
In his response, IGP Suleiman Abba CFR, NPOM, NPM, mni thanked the committee for the visit which he described as highly motivational and promised to make it a subject of lecture across police formations. The IGP again re-affirmed the commitment of Nigeria Police Force to be impartial and non partisan. He equally assured Nigerians that what Nigeria Police Officers have done is not just for the 28th March, 2015 elections, but it will also replicate the same commitment and professionalism in 11th April, 2015 elections and subsequent elections in Nigeria.
