NSCDC Strategizes Towards April Poll

The Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Dr. Ade Abolurin has directed the Corps personnel to restratigise towards the April poll, thereby urging the electorates to be vigilant in order to fish out those that are out to ferment trouble.
 
He made this statement while appreciating the personnel for their gallantry performance during the March 28, elections, by encouraging them not to relent in their doggedness, zeal, passion and desire to have peaceful, free and fair conduct of the various elections in the country.
In his motivational speech, he said, the Nation need peace and the personnel should see themselves as agent and vanguard of peace based on their orientation and contributions through the various town hall meetings and stakeholders programme organized at different fora   for the purpose of peaceful conduct of the elections as well as the co-existence of the Nation.
Abolurin charges the Zonal Commanders and State Commandants to ensure effective deployment of personnel to all nooks and crannies by replicating and doubling their efforts in providing adequate security at the forthcoming Governorship and House of Assembly election polls, identified black spots, collating Centers, INEC offices as well as other designated centers that are likely to be prone to attack . Positioning of sniffer dogs and surveillance vehicles for efficient monitoring of the electoral activities and to work in synergy with other  stake holders, he said.
To the electorates, he assures them of peaceful conduct of the election without hitches. Therefore urging them to turn out en mass to exercise their civic right by casting their votes for candidate of their choice as well as report all suspicious characters to the Corps formation across the federation and to other security agencies.
In the same vein, he advises parents to caution their wards to desist from being used as political thugs by those seeking for power at all cost.
The Commandant General pledges the Corps commitment to a violence free election before, during and after the exercise in order to have a successful and peaceful transition programme.
