Conduct Tribunal issues out bench warrant against six Development Council Chairmen in Adamawa state.

In its yesterday’s sitting Code of Conduct Tribunal, sitting in Abuja has issued out bench warrant against six area development council Chairmen in Adamawa state.

Delivering the order, Chairman Code of Conduct Tribunal, Justice Danladi Y. Umar said the six council chairmen must be produce at the adjourned date of 16th July, 2015 for refusing to appear in court.

The affected council Chairmen are; Aliyu A. Gaya for Gaya/ Gayaha Development Area, Sule Duhu for Shuwa Development Area, Ishiyaku Kawunyara for Yola West Development Area.

Others are; Ahmad Yaro, for Nassarawo Jereng Development Area, Irimiya Levi for Borrong Development Area and Denis A. Kakaba of Bidoma Development Area.

Meanwhile, the defence council lead by S.T. Sotikere applied the court for withdrawal of their service to their clients; he argued that under the provision of rule 29 of rule of professional conduct for legal practitioners; the accused persons were not diligent enough in settling their brief, as such he is no longer interested in representing them, he said.

The Tribunal subsequently granted his prayers and ordered for the production of the accused at the adjourned date.

The accused persons were principally charged to the Tribunal on the 23rd of October, 2012, by the office of Attorney General of the Federation for failure to submit their assets and liability in asset declaration form CCB1,
