… supports FFS on equipment maintenance
Following request from Borno State Government, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has donated large quantity of relief supports approved for distribution to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) living in various camps and host families in Maiduguri, the state capital.

Presenting list of the approved relief items to the Deputy Governor of Borno State Alhaji Umar Zanna Mustapha who was at the headquarters of NEMA in Abuja at the weekend, the Director General Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi said the gesture was in addition to the regular humanitarian supplies being distributed by the Agency to the camps in Maiduguri.

He affirmed the commitment of the Federal Government through NEMA to continuously support the displaced persons even as the Agency had also deployed it officers stationed in all the camps to further assist the IDPs. The DG said NEMA would not relent in the regular distribution of humanitarian supports to the displaced persons.

In a related development, the National Emergency Management Agency has donated cash supports to the Federal Fire Service (FFS) to assist in the maintenance of its equipment.

Presenting a cheque for the supports, Director General of NEMA Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi who was represented by the Director of Search and Rescue Air Commodore Charles Otegbade said the gesture was in line with the mandates of the Agency to support its stakeholders to preparation for emergencies.

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service Mr Joseph Garba Anebi who was represented by Controller Quintus Azogu appreciated NEMA for the kind gesture and assure the use of the fund as designed.
