Niger State Governor Seeks Assistance For Completion Of Abadoned Dam Projects

The Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sanni Bello has solicited the Federal Government’s assistance for the completion of abandoned dam projects in the state.
Alhaji Bello made this appeal  today 12th January,2016 when he paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu in Abuja.
The Governor said his visit was for two main reasons; first to congratulate the Minister on his appointment and second to solicit the Federal Government’s assistance on the way forward on the abandoned dam projects in Niger state.
Alhaji Bello said, completion of the dams would boost the state’s agriculture in line with the focus of the present administration and will also generate income for the state.
The Minister in his response appreciated the agricultural potentials of Niger State, being well placed and having the largest river in the country. He said he was aware of the abandoned dams in the state, one of which is Kagarada dam . He promised that the Federal Government will see to the completion of the abandoned dams in the state and all other abandoned projects in the water sector.
