FG To Launch Information Portal- Lai Mohammed

Lai-MohdThe Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has disclosed that his Ministry will soon launch an Information portal which will provide first hand information to Nigerians at home and the Nigerians in Diaspora.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed stated this Tuesday, in Abuja when he received in audience the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Hon. Abike Dabiri –Erewa who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The Minister said that the Portal will update information about Nigeria and get feedback from Nigerians in Diaspora. Through the portal he also said, Nigerians in Diaspora will be well informed because most of them base their view about Nigeria on second hand information.
He maintained that Nigerians in Diaspora should not be infested with ethnicity or religion but should first and foremost see themselves as Ambassadors of Nigeria, adding that Federal Government will continue to partner with them on the project called Nigeria.
Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Hon. Abike Dabiri –Erewa, said her office will partner with the Ministry of Information and Culture and be the link between Nigerians in Diaspora and people at home as you cannot talk about Diaspora without Information.
She disclosed that her office will soon embark on Validation Workshop on Diaspora Policy which will come upstream very soon as her office is working towards having an accurate Data Base for Nigerians in Diaspora.  Hon. Abike Dabiri –Erewa added that Nigerians in Diaspora has demonstrated their support with “Change Begins with me Project” of the Federal Government and will do everything possible to ensure that the Project “Nigeria” succeeds.
