FG Reiterates Support For Production Of Local Vaccines

The Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has reiterated Federal Government support for local production of drugs and vaccines for the management and control of disease outbreak in Nigeria.
 
The Minister made this known when a delegation from the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), led by the Vice President, Medical & Clinical Emerging Market, Anil Dutta, paid him a courtesy call in Abuja.
 
 Prof. Adewole said that the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health would partner with GSK in areas such as production of local drugs and vaccines and Capacity Building.
 
He pointed out that it would reduce the death rate that usually occurred during outbreaks of diseases across the country.
 
He urged GSK to key into the Federal Government Agenda in the health sector. The priority of the Present Administration was that all Stakeholders in the Health Sector must share collective view and focus more on Health Care delivery to Nigerians.
 
Earlier, the Head of the delegation and the Vice President, Medical & Clinical Emerging Market, Anil Dutta, pledged that the GSK would continue to provide technical and financial support in areas like production of local Drugs and Vaccines in the country.  
 
In his remark, the Executive Secretary, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, informed that the revitalization of 10,000 PHC policy of FMOH would benefit immense from this collaboration, adding that it would ensure affordable and accessible drug and vaccines across the country.
