Army Chief Commissions Projects at Elele Barracks

On Saturday 15th July 2017, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai in continuation with activities marking the activation of 6 Division Nigerian Army, commissioned projects Elele Barracks, Rivers State.

These include Army Government Secondary School, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) Vocational Centre, 1062 Brigade Workshop and Repair Bay, operational vehicles, as well as the new Squash Court.

Meanwhile, as part of the activities marking the operationalization of the newest Division in the Nigerian Army, on Friday 14th July 2017, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai, paid courtesy call on His majesty King, (Dr), Dandeson Douglas Jaja JP, Jeki the 5th, Treaty King, Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Opobo Kingdom, who is also the Chairman Rivers State Council of traditional rulers at the auditorium in the old Government House, Port Harcourt.

Thereafter, he commissioned the Chief of Army Staff Guest House constructed by the Rivers State Government and handed over to the Nigerian Army, unveiled of Officers’ transit accommodation, the 6 Division’s Guests House and 4 blocks of 10 apartments for the Junior Non-commissioned Officers, in Port Harcourt barracks.
