The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) has announced new emergency call lines for Pilgrims in the holy land.
The Chairman of the commission, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar who made the announcement during a press briefing at the Arafat Hajj Rite said that the emergency lines was to help pilgrims anytime they are in distress.
Abdullahi Mukhtar urged pilgrims to continue to be tolerant as the commission will try all its best to provide excellent services.
He further stated that during the movement of pilgrims for the Arafat event, No accident or casualty was recorded as he praised pilgrims for being outstanding and having caused any chaos all through their stay in Saudi Arabia.
He said: “No pilgrim has been involved in any act that has led to a sanction from the Saudi authorities.”
Barrister Mukhtar however regretted the death of seven Nigerian pilgrims.
He said: “The mortality rate for the Hajj 2017 remains at 7 persons from Nigeria which is the lowest in the last 15 years.
“We will continue to ensure we attend to the needs of our pilgrimage in the areas of medication, movements and General welfare.”
