Python Dance: Troops, Vigilantes Arrest Armed Robbers

Troops of Sector 1, covering Abia State have arrested two suspected armed robbers with the collaboration of local vigilantes.

The suspects were arrested at Aron Ngwa Checkpoint today Wednesday 27th September 2017.

They were allegedly responsible for robbing travellers on Aba – Umuahia expressway, close to old toll gate location. Three members of the group are at large.

The following items were found with them at the time of their arrest; 1 × locally made pistol, 4 x live catridges, 1 x Jack knife, 2 x cellphones and suspected sachet of indian hemp.

The suspects will be handed over to the police after preliminary investigation.

Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adamu Baba Abubakar was in Orji River Community on Tuesday 26 September 2017, where he flagged off the free medical outreach and distributed food items to the people of Ozegu Inyi community in Orji Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Thereafter, General Abubakar paid a visit to Sector 4 in 302 Artillery General Support Regiment Field location at Ogba where he interacted with Officers, Soldiers and Commanders of para military organisations taking part in the Exercise.

He used the opportunity of the operational visit to commission the renovated 302 Artillery General Support Regiment Cantonment’s Main Gate and Water projects in the barracks.

He commended the Commander Colonel Idongesit Akpan, Officers and Soldiers of the Regiment for their commitment and conduct so far in the Exercise and urged them to do more.

In the same vein, the GOC 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General CM Abraham and the Acting Corps Commander Supply and Transport, Brigadier General AS Jidda have also visited the Sector where they were briefed on the state of the Exercise.

Similarly, the Corps Commanders of Nigerian Army Artillery and Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Major Generals MH Garba and MO Uzoh respectively were at the Exercise’s Step Up Headquarters in Ovim, Isuakwuto Local Government Area of Abia State today Wednesday 27th September 2017 to assess the Exercise.

In a related development, the Director of Training at the Army Headquarters, Brigadier General Ali Keffi and the Director of Operations Army Headquarters, Brigadier General JGK Myam were in 103 Batallion location today the 27th september 2017 to assess the ongoing Exercise in the Battallion’s Area of Responsibility.
