Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma has said that the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to working with the private sector to achieve faster economic development.
Udoma stated this at the opening of the 23rd Nigerian Economic Summit, Tuesday, October 10, 2017,  jointly organised by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), in close collaboration with the Ministry of Budget and National Planning
The Nigerian Economic Summit is an annual dialogue platform created under the public – private – partnership (ppp) arrangement with the NESG representing the private sector and Ministry of Budget and National Planning, representing the  public sector
The Minister explained that,  the administration of President Buhari has demonstrated clear commitments to working with the private sector through the recent concession of some nation’s airports and other policy interventions  to provide a favourable environment for their business operations in Nigeria.
He also said that, government focused to make the Nigerian economy globally competitive and more diversified away from its mono-economic structure, hence working with the private sector will be the surest way to achieve that feat faster
Senator Udoma further explained that the  ERGP document has spelt out clear priorities for implementation and that the private sector has a major role to play to realise its objectives
“Government on its part is committed to faithful implementation of the ERGP by ensuring that our annual budget aligns with the priorities of the ERGP and also special monitoring units have been planned in all MDAs to ensure effective implementation” he said
Senator Udoma, called on the private sector to work towards strengthening the ERGP Implementation Strategy and contribute towards it’s effective implementation
Theme for the 23rd Nigerian Economic Summit is ” Opportunities, Productivity & Employemt ..  Actualising Economic Recovery and Growth Plan”
The key thrust of the summit will seek to create robust stakeholders discussions and deliberations that accentuate the economic framework for opportunities, productivity and employment
