Governor’s Wife Pays Fine for Freedom of 50 Prison Inmates in Bauchi

Governor’s Wife Pays Fine for Freedom of 50 Prison Inmates in Bauchi

In her continued support to the welfare of Prison inmates in Bauchi State, the wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Barr. Aisha M.A.Abubakar has requested for the list of fifty (50) Prison inmates with option of fine and compensation for immediate payment.

Barrister Aisha M.A. Abubakar noted that she intends to pay for their fines in the spirit of the festive period to enable them celebrate the yulitide with their families at home.

The Governor’s wife emphasized that assisting the inmates and the less privileged people of the society is part of the agenda of her pet project; the Brilliant Girl Child initiative which is in tandem with Governor M.A. Abubakar’s people oriented programmes in Bauchi State.

In his remarks, the Controller of Prisons Bauchi State Command CP Sulaiman T Sulaiman, commended the Governor’s wife for her numerous interventions to Prisons in the state. He noted that, it’s on record that Barrister Aisha Muhammed A.Abubakar had in 2016 paid fines and compensation to 42 inmates in the state.  She later enrolled them into Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity for vocational training and provided them with vocational tools after graduation.

He assured the Governor’s wife that the list would be made available to her as soon as possible. He prayed for the success of her husband’s tenure in office as executive Governor of Bauchi State.
