Army Distributes Cash to 95 Widows in Enugu
The General Officer Commanding(GOC), 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major  General Adamu Baba Abubakar has formally handed over the Sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (2oo,000)each to the 95 widows of the fallen heroes resident in Abakpa and Awkunanaw barracks Enugu.
The raw cash presentation to the widows, was done at the Division’s auditorium in Enugu today Friday the 2nd of March, 2018.
Gen Abubakar, on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money and thanked the Governor of Enugu State Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his numerous support to the widows and the Division.
Recall that on the 15th of January, 2018 during the 2018 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, Governor Ugwuanyi pleged to give empowerment assistance to the widows of the Division’s fallen heroes which he redeemed on the 17th of February 2018, when a Cheque of Nineteen Million Naira (19,000,000:00)was on behalf of the Governor Enugu State presented to the GOC 82 Division for the widows by the Special Adviser to the Governor on security, retired Brigadier General Eze at the occasion of the 2017 West African Social Activities held in Abakpa Cantonment Enugu.
The Garrison Commander 82 Division, Brigadier General Lasisi Adegboye, Commanders Supply and Transport and Ordnance  Services Brigadier Generals Emmanuel Anaryu and EL Ugwuoke attended the event. Others are the Commander Finance and accounts of the Division, Brigadier General OP Sintali and Commander Military Intelligence Brigade Colonel Kingsley  Nwoko respectively. Representatives from NAOWA 82 Division Chapter have also graced the occasion.
