Again, Army Repels Terrorists Attack, Kills 6

Again, Army Repels Terrorists Attack, Kills 6 in North-East

Troops of operation LAFIYA DOLE on clearance operation at Gashigar repelled an attack and neutralized 6 Boko Haram terrorists.

 Some of the terrorists were also wounded during the encounter.

 Items  recovered include 1 Anti aircraft Gun, 4 AK47 rifles, 6 AK47 Magazines, 2 Mortar Bombs and 2 Gun Trucks.

 Unfortunately, two soldiers were wounded during the operation.

 Similarly, troops successfully cleared Gambori, Dumbawa, Damsu, Awardi, Kanaram, Laridi, Malumdi and Yuramdi villages. Items recovered include; One Refrigerator, One 14inch TV, two DVDs and a box filled with drugs.

 Efforts are on to arrest fleeing other members of the terrorists group.

In another development, Troops of 177 Guards Battalion while  on raid operation at Ugya village in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State destroyed some armed militia camp.

The  Spiritual Head of the militia group, one Angulu Idaku was also arrested. Items recovered include: Seven locally made guns, Twelve  cartridges, 200 rounds of 7.62MM special ammunition, 76 rounds of 7.62MM NATO special ammunition, Four knives, Fifteen cutlasses, 6 mobile phones, One DSTV decoder set and 4 solar panel sets.

Members of the public are once again reminded to report any suspicious activities to the security agents.

Suicide Bomber Kills Civilian JTF Members in Konduga

Today being 15-05-18 at about 1330hrs in Mandarari village in Konduga LGA, a male suicide bomber detonated an IED strapped to his body, close to an Airtel Mast. The resulting explosion killed the bomber and unfortunately, four civillian JTF operatives.

Five other persons were injured. The Borno State Police Command immediately deployed men of the EOD unit and other combat teams to sanitize the scene and restore normalcy.

The corpses and the injured have been evacuated to the hospital.
The Commissioner of Police Borno State, CP Damian Chukwu once again assures members of the public of the readiness of the Command to protect lives and properties.

He also urges members of the public to always remain vigilant and report suspicious persons and activities to the Police or other security agencies.
