IBB, Bafarawa in Closed-Door Meeting

Former Military President General Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) played host to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant and former governor of Sokoto state Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa when the later visited Minna, Niger state Monday in continuation of his political consultation, meeting with key PDP stakeholders on his presidential aspiration.

The presidential aspirant stormed the hilltop residence of the former military head of state where the two personalities met behind closed doors for more than one hour.

Though the outcome of their meeting was not made known to members of the Press attached to the Campaign team of the presidential hopeful, Bafarawa must have briefed the former Military President and enlisted his support for his presidential aspiration.

It could be said that the outcome of their meeting was quite positive as they came out from an inner room smiling and exchange of banters.

No sooner the two leaders finished the political consultation then Bafarawa came out to invite members of his entourage to the inner room to greet the former Military President who looked hale and healthy.

Members of the entourage were shocked to hear the former Military Head of State calling some of the members whom he knew many years ago by their names.

It was observed that the exchange of pleasantries between Bafarawa and former Military President was a clear indication that the presidential aspirant was accorded all the needed reception at the retired General’s residence.

Members of the entourage at Babangida’s residence included the Director General of the Bafarawa Campaign Organisation, BCO Senator Paul Wampana, Chief, Mrs Becky Igwe, Alhaji Sani Kabiru, Dr Amanze Obi and Dr Iliya Stephen.

Others are Niger state coordinator of the BCO, Rt. Hon Isah Shaba, some elders, leaders of the party, women and youths mobilization groups among others.
