Islamic Year: IBB Calls for Endurance

The New Islamic Lunar Year 1440 after the Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to the city of Madinah, has been described by Former Military President, General Ibrahim BadamasiBabangida as a significant milestone to the entire Muslims Community all over the world.

In a statement to usher in the New Islamic year, General Babangida tasked the Muslim Ummah to always rededicate themselves to the teachings of Islam in maintaining peace, tranquility, equality and respect to the constituted authorities.

“The migration of the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and the commencement of the Lunar year has emboldened the mankind with sufficient courage and endurance to address difficulties in whatever situations they found themselves” said General Babangida.

With the beginning of the first day of the month of Muharram of the Islamic New Year, General Babangida appealed to Nigerians to renew their faith in Allah and deepen their patriotism to their nation.

“I therefore enjoyed Nigerians to use the lessons derived from Hijrah to surmount Nigeria’s problems for a better country of our dream in Peace Unity and Prosperity”.General Babangida, concluded.

He further wished the country and the Muslim Ummah Happy New Islamic year in good Health, liberty and freedom.
