NIS Arraigns Passport Offenders in Katsina Court
The Federal High Court in Katsina State has remanded one Peter Ethan, a passport officer with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and two others in prison custody till November 13, 2018 over an attempt to procure Nigerian passport with false breeder documents.
The three accused persons were arraigned by NIS Prosecutor on a three-count charge of:
1. conspiracy to procure passport using false information
2. submitting false information to procure passport
3. counseling a person to produce false information for purpose of procuring Passport.

These offenses are in contravention of the provisions of the Immigration Act 2015.
The Comptroller General of Immigration Muhammad Babandede MFR wish to advise Nigerians to always ensure that they present genuine breeder documents for Passport applications, while Officers and men are hereby warned to desist from colluding with Passport applicants to commit such offenses. The Service will not fail to prosecute all offenders including serving Officers.
Meanwhile, the CGI commends the efforts of Katsina State Command for its relentless war against organized crime.
