Again, NAF Destroys Boko Haram Camps at Buk
In continuation of OPERATION GREEN SWEEP, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, on 14 November 2018, destroyed a Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) Camp at Buk along the Ajigin-Talala-Buk axis near Alagarno Forest. The operation was conducted after ISR missions led to the discovery of a new camp with structures hidden under the thick vegetation, including a suspected BHT Tactical Command and Control (C2) Centre. Accordingly, an Alpha Jet aircraft and two Mi-35 attack helicopters were detailed to attack the camp, inflicting significant damage to the C2 Centre.

The NAF, working in concert with surface forces, will sustain the tempo of operations with a view to destroying all remnants of the terrorists in Borno State.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCRFMI) has commended the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its humanitarian assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in different parts of Nigeria. This commendation was made yesterday, 14 November 2018, by the National Commissioner of NCRFMI, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruq, while donating drugs and other medical items to the NAF Emergency Hospital in Dalori. In her remarks, Hajiya Sadiya lauded the NAF for its contribution towards the security, health care and nutritional needs for IDPs in the area. The National Commissioner noted that the items were donated to assist the NAF to continue to meet the medical needs of the IDPs and members of host communities. Some of the items donated include antibiotics, analgesics, anti-fungals, anthelmintics, hematinic medication and multivitamins.

The NAF has continued to provide humanitarian services to IDPs located across the country as part of its civil-military cooperation activities aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the locals affected by human and natural disasters. Apart from its numerous medical outreaches in all the geopolitical zones of Nigeria, the NAF, under the leadership of Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, went further to establish a Level 2 Emergency Hospital in Dalori IDP Camp in 2015 and also established Emergency Hospital in Bama IDPs Camp in 2016, to provide medical care for the citizens affected by the activities of terrorists in Borno State.
