NIS Procures 246 Operational Vehicles… Commissions Abia Office Complex

The Honourable Minister of Interior Lt. Gen (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, CFR, PhD commissioned the new Nigeria Immigration Service office complex at Umuahia today 17th December 2018.

The Command project, awarded in 2012 was successfully completed by the CGI Muhammad Babandede, MFR, in 2015. The Command is on a 4.7 hectares of land. We successfully commissioned 2 in Kano and Jigawa in 2017. This is in line with the resolve of the Service to complete 2 Command projects every year and it is important to avail members of the public that we have as a Service executed 391 capital projects across formations between 2016-2018.

These include command office complexes, flag houses, border patrol bases and transit camps to accommodate our border patrol officers while 88 others are ongoing. Also 246 operational and logistic vehicles were procured within the period under review. The Service (NIS) was just given the NIGAV Award 2018 for ease of doing business as the best agency for International Trade and Travel Facilitation this weekend.

While appreciating the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Victor Okezie Ikpeazu, the Comptroller General assured the good people of Abia State and Nigerians that the facility will be committed to serving their interest in all the services we render to the public.

The Comptroller General enjoined personnel serving in Abia State to make good use of the new office complex as the Service makes effort to ensure that officers and men operate in a better and conducive atmosphere with renewed zeal and vigor for effective service delivery.
