Ewache Ajefu Emerges as IMPR Chief Operating Officer/Editor-in-Chief

The Image Merchant Promotions Limited (IMPR), publishers of news release platform, PRNigeria and Economic Confidential Magazine has appointed its Managing Editor as the Chief Operating Officer and Editor-in-Chief of the firm.
The announcement was made by the founder of Image Merchant Promotions Limited (IMPR), Mallam Yushau Shuaib in his valedictory speech to Management and staff of the global award-winning Public Relations firm.

Mallam Yushau Shuaib who was recently reinstated into the public service of the federation, noted that Mr Ajefu who has also been elevated to the position of Editor-In-Chief will superintend on the titles and the general administration due to his hard work, dedication and marketing skills exhibited in adding value to the company.

In his acceptance speech, the new helmsman said the announcement of his elevation came to him as a shock and thanked the company for recognizing him as capable of piloting the affairs of the dynamic firm, adding that it was a call to duty.

The Chief Operating Officer also used the occasion to announce the unveiling of a new publication titled: Emergency Digest (www.emergencydigest.com) which will dwell on contemporary emergency issues and promises to be strictly online, while it will highlight accomplishment of outstanding emergency managers and security officers who have distinguished themselves in their chosen assignments.

He further said that PRNigeria, despite its rich contributions in breaking security and other related news and press releases on behalf of the Nigeria security agencies had not registered the desired patronage, adding that the development has not deterred the management, hence its continued involvement in building a viable security architecture through effective dissemination of information vital to the citizens and in particular, security agencies in the country.

He also praised the staff for consistently partaking and sustaining the flagship publication, “Economic Confidential” for the last twelve years in both print and electronic version, adding that the print version would now come as a quarterly magazine with its usual rich and encouraging profiling of the nation’s economy.

Mr Ajefu noted that the Youth Digest arm of IMPR has continued its dogged role in promoting excellence in Campus Journalism in the country courtesy of the maiden edition of the Campus Journalism Awards last year, stressing that this year’s version comes up on the 19th of January, 2019 at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja which promises increased attendance in view of large volumes of entries received apart from ‘Who is Who’ in the journalism and public relations profession.

While commending the founder for the five years of dedication and steadfastness in steering the affairs of the organization during his compulsory retirement and in the face of dwindling resources associated with the downturn in the economy, he stressed that about 70% of staff have been disengaged.

“It is very painful that not only was the accounts of the company frozen but that of our founder, Mallam Yushau Shuaib was also blocked which forced us to disengage about 70% of our workforce. We commend his foresight during his period of compulsory retirement by the federal government as his contributions garnered several outstanding awards within and outside the country.” He used the occasion to commend the federal government for obeying the court judgment and recalling the IMPR founder, Mallam Yushau Shuaib back to his duty post at the federal ministry of Information and Culture.
