Court Dismisses Case Against Kano PDP Gubernatorial Candidate
The Kano State High Court sitting at Audu Secretariat under Justice AT Badamasi has dismissed the case against Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Kano State.
The court upheld the candidature of Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf as the PDP’s flag-bearer for the 2019 governorship election.
Delivering the judgement, today, Justice AT Badamasi dismissed the suit of Mr Jaafar Sani Bello who was challenging the emergence of Engr. Abba Kabir after the October 1st Primary elections which held in Kano on the ground of its statute barred.

It can be recalled that, Jaafar Sani Bello filed a case seeking the court to declare him as the party’s flag bearer, but in its judgement, the court decided against the plaintiff.
Responding to Journalists after the judgement, the lawyer of the first defendant Barrister Bashir Yusuf Muhammad of Maigari Partners said the verdict does not come as a surprise considering the facts presented before the court.
Meanwhile, the PDP flag bearer Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf called on all supporters of the party to come together for the victory of PDP in all positions come 2019.
In a statement signed by the candidate’s spokesperson, Mr Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa said the judgement has proven the right decision of the PDP delegates in Kano who massively voted for Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf as popular candidate capable of transforming Kano into an economically viable State.
