Dambazau Appointed into Africa Peace Fellows
The College of Health and Human Services of the California State University, Sacramento has appointed the Honourable Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau CFR PhD to serve on the International Advisory Board of the Africa Peace Fellows (APF). APF is an initiative of the California State University’s Center for African Peace & Conflict Resolution (CAPCR) with major training initiatives on conflict resolution.
Gen. Dambazau would serve on the Board for a 3-year term (renewable) and during that time he will be involved in building the next generation of peace leaders in Africa pro bono.

Born on 14th March 1954, Lt Gen (Rtd) Dambazau was Chief of Army Staff, Nigerian Army (2008 – 2010). He holds BSc (Hons) Degree in Criminal Justice, and two Masters’ Degrees in Political Science and Higher Educational Administration, as well as a PhD in Criminology.
Currently, he is the Chairman, University Advancement Centre, University of Ibadan and Visiting Professor of Strategic Studies, Igbinedion University, Okada.
Gen. Dambazau recently received the International Alumni Award (2018) from the College of Education, Health and Human Services, Kent State University, in recognition of his strong contributions to the fields of education, health and human services.
He is a Fellow, Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University (2012-2013) and also Associate of the Center (2013 – 2014).
A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Dambazau has been the party’s Director of Security since 2015 elections and presently the Honourable Minister of Interior.
