Kebbi Governor Frees 98 Prison Inmates, as 80 Others Graduate in Quranic Studies

Kebbi Governor Frees 98 Prison Inmates, as 80 Others Graduate in Quranic Studies

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has settled the Fines and Compensations of Ninety Eight Inmates of Medium Security Prison Birnin Kebbi.

The Governor ably represented by his Personal Assistant Alhaji Faruk Musa(Enabo), disclosed this at the Holy Qur’an Graduation Ceremony of Eighty Prisoners, organized by ‘Kebbi State Committee on Preaching and Assistance to Prisoners’ in collaboration with the Nigerian Prisons Service Kebbi State Command.

The Governor’s PA donated one cow and a sum of N:5000 each to the graduands and N:200,000 to all the Prisoners in custody.

Earlier the Committee Chairman, thanked the Prison Management for availing them the opportunity to take part in the Spiritual Rehabilitation of Offenders, noting that the committee’s mission is to carry along all the Prison Formations in the State.

Controller of Prisons Kebbi State Command Alhaji Sani Adamu Potiskum ,FICEN, Yarin Fika, appealed to all and sundry to borrow a leap from the committee. He added that to achieved the 3Rs of imprisonment (Reformation,Rehabilitation and Reintegration) the NGOs, Philanthropists and Religious Institutions must put hands on deck.

Notable personalities who graced the ceremony include; ACG Abubakar Falke Rtd, ACG Yazid Bala Alhassan Rtd, Politicians, DCP Mamuda Umar Mato officer in charge MSP Birnin Kebbi and a host of other Senior Prisons Officers.
