NPS Operates 13 Prisons in Bauchi… Reopens Gamawa Satelite Prison
The Controller of Prisons Bauchi State Command, Suleiman T. Suleiman has charged officers in charge of Prison formations in the State to enforce adequate security of all the prisons especially during and after 2019 general elections.

The Controller gave the charge during a stakeholders meeting today in his office with all the heads of prison formations in Bauchi State ahead of the general elections.
CP Suleiman stressed that as a security organization, the Nigeria Prisons Service is set to deploy its men for election duties in order to ensure the successful conduct of elections. The Controller of Prison however tasked the officers in charge of stations not to be partisan and to ensure maximum security in their Prisons in order to forestall any security breach during the elections.
Meanwhile, Gamawa Satellite Prison which hitherto remained closed due to security instability has been reopened. CP. Suleiman T. Suleiman gave the indication today noting that the Controller General of Prisons, Ja’afaru Ahmed through the Honourable Minister of Interior gave the approval for the reopening having examined the improvement of security in the area.
With the reopening of Gamawa Satellite Prison, this brings to thirteen (13) the total number of Prisons in Bauchi Command which include five (5) Main Prisons and eight (8) Satellite prisons.
