Police Nab Killer of Nimo Community Leader

Police Nab Killer of Nimo Community Leader

It would be recalled that on the 16/4/2019 at about 8:18pm, the President General Nimo community one Chief Frank Anthony Igboka was shot and murdered by gunmen around Nimo market in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State.

Following the incident, the Command under my watch launched an aggressive manhunt of perpetrators of this dastardly act which led to the arrest of the main kingpin one Chigbo Aniegbu aka (Transformer) ‘m’ aged 27 years of Abba,Nimo in connection with the murder of the late President General. Other gang members are at large and effort is being intensified to apprehend them. They are ,

-Smart surname unknown ‘m’
– Chukwunonso alias (Nwasami)
– Obinna Okafor ‘m’
Suspects have all been declared wanted by the Command and a cash reward of five million Naira (#5,000,000) was promised to anybody who provides useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects by His Excellency the executive governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano.

ARREST OF A SUSPECTED MURDERER/KIDNAPPER.
You may also recall that sometimes in 2014, one Pa Iloanyusi aged 85 years and father of Ex Super Eagles player Chikelu Iloanyusi was kidnapped and murdered by one Ikechukwu Emilie, a notorious kidnapper terrorizing Anaku and Otoucha axis in Anambra State.

Suspect was rounded up at Phix motel Abagana where he jumped down from a three storey building with handcuff and escaped in 2014.Since then he became elusive and all efforts to get him rearrested was furtile.

However, on the 27/4/2019 at about 1:30pm, following credible intelligence, Police detectives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested the suspect IKECHUKWU EMILIE ‘m’ aged 30 years in his hideout at Anaku in Anyamelum LGA of Anambra State.

Case under investigation after which Suspect would be charged to Court for prosecution.

RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED VICTIM AND RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION.
On the 25/04/2019 at about 10:30pm,following intelligence report from Owerri in Imo State that gunmen Suspected to be kidnappers abducted one Obinna Davidson with his Red Lexus Car model GS 300 Registration No EHM 32 EHRH and headed towards Onitsha in Anambra State.

Following the distress, Patrol teams attached to Operation Udoka were alerted who later traced the hoodlums to a secluded flat located inside a bush around Oba area in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State.

Victim was rescued unhurt and his Vehicle recovered. Hoodlums escaped through the rear fence into the bush and abandoned their Toyota Carina which was equally recovered.

Meanwhile, Search was conducted inside the building and the following exhibits were recovered.

-Two AK47 riffles with ten rounds of live ammunition.
– One Beretta pistol with ten rounds of .9mm ammunition.

Scene was cordoned off and efforts are being intensified to apprehend fleeing suspects in order to bring them to Justice.

ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECTS:
On the 27/4/2019 at about 11:30pm,operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested at a criminal hideout in Oba one Chijioke Okeh ‘m’ aged 26 years and Ugochukwu Nweke ‘m’ aged 23 years all of uruagu in oba.

Suspects had on the 25/4/2019 at about 8:15pm,robbed at gunpoint in Nnewi one Rev Father Chukwunonso Anosike ‘m’ of his HP Laptop, Samsung A7 phone, Fero phone, two infinix phones, one Techno phone and a power bank.

All the robbed items have been recovered and the complainant identified them. Efforts are ongoing to recover their operational weapons after which they would be charged to Court for prosecution.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS :
On the 27/4/2019 at about 8pm, distress call was received at Ogidi division that two young men attempted to rob passersby at Attah road, Nkpor in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State.

Following the report, Police Patrol team attached to Ogidi Division rushed to the scene and arrested one Chukwuma Ememke ‘m’ and Chizoba Obuneme ‘m ‘.

Suspects attempted robbing passersby but were overpowered and beaten to stupor by the mob before the arrival of the Police.

Meanwhile, a toy gun was recovered from the suspects as exhibit and Case is under investigation.

ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS CULTIST/ MURDER SUSPECT IN OGIDI:

On the 28/4/2019 at about 10pm,following Intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Ogidi Division arrested one Chidubem Umealu m’ aka (Toto) ‘m’ aged 22 years of Obuba village Nkpor.

Suspect was arrested at Ghali hotel Nkpor and has been on the Police wanted list for serial cult related killings Including the murder of one Arinze Uzoegbu ‘m’ on 6/12/2018 at Mbachu village Nkpor.Case under investigation.

Consequently,between 1/04/2019 to date, the Command through it’s striking units such as SARS, Special Anti Cultism,operations Udoka and Divisional Patrol teams have equally arrested a total number of two hundred and sixty four (264)suspects comprising of (231) Suspected cultists.(16).one chance robbery syndicate,four (4)suspected car snatchers,three (3) suspected kidnappers and ten(10) suspected armed robbers through intelligence gathering, intensive raids on Criminal hideouts and visibility patrols which is still ongoing.

Total Exhibits recovered are as follows,

1.Two AK 47 rifles,
2. One Beretta Pistol,
3. Two (2) Double Barrel guns,
4. Two(2) Revolver Pistols
5. Two(2) fabricated guns ,
6. Two Toy guns,
7. One hundred and sixty (160) ammunition of 7.62 mm
8. Sixteen(16)cartridges,
9. Forty two rounds (42)of .9mm life ammunition,
10. Two Toyota Corolla vehicles stolen at gunpoint,
11. One Rave4 jeep stolen from Rivers State,
12. Three L 300 Mitsubishi buses used for one chance robbery,
13. One Lexus Car,
14. One Toyota Carina,
15. Eight bags and two drums of Dry leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa
16. Three (3) Axes
17. One (1) Dagger
18. One (1) Machete,

Once again i assure all “Ndi Anambra” and residents alike that Anambra State will continue to remain safe and secured despite isolated cases which the Command in collaboration with other Sister agencies are working assiduously to contain.

Finally, I wish to thank the Executive Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano for all his supports towards ensuring that Anambra State remain the safest State in the Federation.
