Police Nab 53 Cultists in Anambra

In its determination to sustain the ongoing manhunt for Secret cults which has now become a major Social problem in the State, Police operatives attached to the Command operation Puff Adder in conjunction with Special Anti Cult unit (SPACS) arrested at various locations within the State 53 suspected cultists following intensive raids on Criminal hideouts and blackspots as follows,

2. On the 17/06/2019 at Abba/Abagana axis, 15 suspected cultists were arrested. On 18/06 /2019 at Ukwulu, 06 suspected cultists were arrested. 0n the 19 /06 /2019 at Oko/AMAOKPALA /AGWBU axis , 08 suspected cultists arrested. On 20/06/2019 at NTEJE , 05 suspected cultists arrested. On 21/06/2019, at OGIDI axis, 11 suspected cultists arrested. On 22/06/2019, at AMAWBIA & URUM respectively , 04 suspected cultists arrested. On 23/06/2019, at IHIALA axis, 04 suspected cultists arrested.Exhibits recovered from the suspects include four (4) Axes ,three (3) cutlasses,some quantities of dry leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa and substance suspected to be cocaine.

3. Meanwhile, from all the raids carried out, a total number of 53 suspects were arrested out of which 15 were screened out, 09 suspects were charged to court while 29 others are undergoing investigation.

4. In a related development, Police detectives attached to Ogidi Division in conjunction with puff adder operatives had on the 25/6/2019 at about 11:45pm following intelligence report, stormed the hideout of a notorious Armed robbery suspect one Emeka surname yet unknown at Ikenga ogidi and recovered a double barrel Pistol.Suspect on sighting the Police escaped through the back door and effort is ongoing to get him arrested in order to bring him to Justice.
