RevolutionNow: Dan-Halilu Yet to be Released by DSS over Facebook Post
The detained former Politics Editor of Daily Trust newspaper, Ibrahim Dan-Halilu is yet to be released by the Department of Security Services (DSS) since he was arrested last Monday in Kaduna.
PRNigeria gathered that the Kaduna Command of the Secret Service is awaiting further directive from Abuja Headquarters of DSS for further actions.
A source within the DSS said the service has not concluded vital investigation on the activities of the journalist.

“Mr. Dan-Halilu would have since been released. But a directive from the DSS Headquarters in Abuja prevented us from releasing him after conducting a preliminary investigation. We were mandated to keep him further, pending when the outcome of a comprehensive investigation is carried out,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Dan-Halilu’s lawyers are working assiduously behind the scene to ensure the veteran Editor regain his freedom without unnecessary delay.
A former Politics Editor at Daily Trust newspaper, Ibrahim Dan-Halilu was arrested in Kaduna for allegedly supporting the activities of RevolutionNow in a Facebook post.
The group, which is agitating for a revolution movement in Nigeria, was convened by Omoyele Sowore, Publisher of Sahara Reporters and Presidential Candidate of Action Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 election.
Mr. Dan-Halilu a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu before the 2015 elections was once a communication specialist with USAID, Information Assistant at the US Embassy and a Regional Communication Specialist for Family Health.
