Eid-Kabir: Police Boss Orders round-the-clock security across the nation

The Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A. Adamu, NPM, mni has assured Nigerians of adequate security before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

As part of measures toward ensuring a peaceful and incident-free Sallah celebration, the IGP has directed all Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) in charge of Zones and State Commands nationwide to deploy adequate operational manpower and equipment to protect all places of public interest, including: shopping malls, motor parks, financial institutions, places of worship and recreation centres to enable holiday makers, worshippers and the general public enjoy optimum safety and security during the season. The IGP in particular has directed that all State Commissioners of Police including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) should put in place strategic and customized security deployment on major highways straddling their Areas of Responsibilities (AOR) to ensure adequate safety for travelers and other road users.

Meanwhile, the IGP heartily expresses goodwill to, and congratulates, all Nigerians especially the Muslim Ummah as they join other Faithfuls all over the world, in celebrating this year’s Eid-el Kabir.

While reassuring the public, especially, worshippers, travelers and all well-meaning citizens that the Nigeria Police will effectively discharge their constitutional responsibility of providing adequate security for all, the IGP advises Nigerians to, at all times, be security conscious and report promptly, every suspicious move by individuals or group to the Police or other relevant security agencies.

Zamfara Police Command Prepare for Sallah Celebration

In view of the forthcoming Eid-el – kabeer Sallah celebrations slated for 11th August, 2019, the Zamfara state police command under the leadership of CP Usman Nagogo has made an adequate security arrangements to guarantee the desired security for the people of Zamfara state, before during and after the celebration.

2.This arrangement will cover all the praying grounds, shopping malls and recreational centers where large number of people are expected to gather.

3. To this end, High visibility patrols/stop and search, intelligence/information gathering as well as raiding of criminals hideout will be intensified to ensure peaceful conduct of the celebration. Also, Safer highway patrol teams have been deployed to all major highways in the state to ensure security and safety of travellers/ commuters.

The personnel deployed for this critical assignment are under strict instructions of the commissioner of police to be civil and polite in the discharge of their duties.

The command enjoined members of the public to be law abiding and cooperate with the police personnel deployed to their localities by reporting any incident or strange and suspicious movement to any nearest police station for prompt action.

The Commissioner of police Cp Usman Nagogo psc ± wishes the Muslim faithful in the state happy Eid-el kabeer celebrations, advices them to be security conscious of themselves and their families.
