NSCDC Deploys Rangers for Protection of Agro Allied Investment in Borno

NSCDC Deploys Rangers for Protection of Agro Allied Investment in Borno

The Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has made a donation of eight (8) hilux vehicles to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps out of the fifteen (15) promised for the purpose of Agro-Rangers operations in the state. This was necessitated by the recent engagement of 75 Agro-Rangers trained personnel of the Corps to protect Agro Allied investments in the State.

According to the Governor, the new Hilux vehicles will aid the operatives in carrying out their statutory functions of protecting government reserved areas and agro allied investments in the State.

The Governor appreciated the Corps exemplary performance in numerous National assignments and stated, that, “the state government is particularly happy with the Corps, especially the way its personnel go about carrying their duty diligently’’. He commended the NSCDC Boss, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu for his doggedness in repositioning the Corps as well as the State Commandant Abdullahi Ibrahim for working in synergy with other security agencies in ensuring adequate safety and protection of lives and property of Nigerians and particularly the people of Borno state in the face of current security challenges.

The NSCDC Boss, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, expressed appreciation to the Governor for his efforts in donating eight (8) Hilux vehicles to the Corps out of the 15 promised. While at the same time assuring him of effective and efficient utilization of the vehicles.

Gana explained that, the NSCDC with the support of the Governor, has recorded immense achievement in the area of it’s mandates and have succeeded equally of Disaster Mitigation and Management in collaboration with NEMA for the rescue and evacuation of Disaster victims, protection of IDPS, distribution of relief materials, demarcation of insurgency prone areas and alerting the public on Disaster prevention and management especially in the areas affected by Boko Haram insurgency.

He commended the Borno State Government for the support and assistance to the Corps, but like Oliver Twist, the CG says the Corps is still expecting more’’.

He reiterated that his leadership has ensured judicious use of all equipment made available to the organisation which hitherto, informed the Corps performance in Joint Task Force operations in combating the menace of terrorism bedevilling the state.

According to Gana the Hilux vehicles is to further enhance his staff performance and the actualization of its citizen’s focused mandate with regards to combating crimes and criminality. He stated that the vehicles will be well-equipped with modern communication gadgets to meet the required standard in quick response to emergencies to serve the good people of Borno State and adequate monitoring of the Agro areas of the State.
