Police Boss Narrates How Zamfara Bandits Surrendered Sophisticated Rifles
The Commissioner of Police Zamfara state Command CP Usman Nagogo psc+ while displaying the surrendered rifles to the Governor at the Trade fair Complex Gusau told His Excellency that all alone there were a lot of questions by Journalists, analysts and other elites on the disarmament process.

The answer then was that the emphasis was to secure human beings who were in captivity for many months. By the grace of GOD we were able to achieve the rescue of over three hundred and seventy five people. By our estimation, all the captives have been freed. Thus, this has given us the much desired and required freedom to start the disarmament process. It is important to stress here that, even when we are rescuing the victims, one bandits submitted two (2) AK 47 rifles which has since been showcased to the press.

On 30th August, 2019, a bandit by name Abdullahi yellow from Dansadau Emirate in Maru LGA submitted Four (4) sophisticated arms/ammunition and Military camouflage uniform whose breakdown is as follows:-

Light Machine gun (LMG) rifle with breech number erased.

AK 47 rifle with breech number 35372

FN rifle with breech number 167119

FN rifle with breech number 212108
Ten (10) rounds of live ammunition

One Military camouflage uniform

On 4th September, 2019 one kachalla Halilu, a repentant bandit from Sububu forest in Maradun LGA submitted Four (4) deadly rifles to the commissioner of Policies a sign of receiving government offer of amnesty wholeheartedly without any condition. The caliber of the said arms with the breech number is as follows:-

AK 47 rifle breech number 1141 with empty magazine

AK 47 rifle breech number 1975 with empty magazine

FN rifle breech number 2112 and

Light Machine gun (LMG) rifle breech number erased.

These are rifles that were received from remorseful bandits who have also promised to surrender their arms and ammunition without government paying a dime.

Similarly, On 5th September, 2019 the same remorseful bandit surrendered to the Commissioner of Police Six (6) caliber of different assorted automatic rifles in this order:-

General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) rifle with breech number 10378

AK 47 rifle with breech number L941207436

AK 47 rifle with breech number 1973-AA8536

AK 47 rifle with breech number 1984-NX6832

AK 47 rifle with breech number erased and

AK 47 rifle with breech number 02304

It is instructive to note that all these rifles were received as tip of the iceberg. Your Excellency sir, I assure you that, the real disarmament has not even started. The contact we make gave us a hint that more than 90 percent of the repentant bandits are ready to surrender their arms. Therefore, if there is any doubting thomases, about the future outcome, this has proved doubters wrong. It may interest you to know that many bandits that fled the cites have started started relocating to the towns and other sub- urban areas in order to start their normal life.

They are interacting with the people and security agents about their future plans. This itself has proven that the amnesty offered by the government is working and actually it will boost the economic activities of the state.

In the light of this your Excellency, I now handover to you nineteen (19) sophisticated, dangerous and killer rifles for your attention and future guidance. To end this submission, I will like to reiterate the state security agencies total support to your administration to achieve total disarmament in the state in order to fulfill all the promises you made to the good people of zamfara state.
