E-Border: New Immigration Complex Commissioned in Uyo
The Honourable Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Arebgesola has asserted that the Federal Government under President Muhamadu Buhari is committed to improving working conditions of Officers and Men of the Nigeria Immigration Service to boost border security as evident by the enormous financial supports already given to the Service by the Government in its bid to strengthen internal security and quality of service to Nigerians.

2. The Honourable Minister who commissioned a brand new Immigration Service State Command Office Complex build the Service at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State further stated that aside the multi-billion naira committed to the construction of the technology building at the NIS headquarters, the federal government this year also approved N52 billion for the e-border project which are deliberate government policies to secure the country’s borders.

Earlier at the occasion, the Comptroller General of Immigration Muhammad Babandede MFR who was represented by DCG Finance and Account, NE Graham maintained that to demonstrate NIS readiness for better service delivery, the Service have also been pursuing holistic reforms covering all areas that affect its core mandates including the visa reform which has helped the country especially on the ease of doing business and a comprehensive Passport reform that is developing a robust Passport and migration solution.
4. The Akwa Ibom State Command office complex which is constructed within 6 months record time is the 6th Command Office Complex commissioned by the CGI Babandede lead NIS between 2017 to date.
