Abuja Police Command Nabs Kidnappers, One-Chance Robbers, Rapists

2. In line with our constitutional mandate, we are committed to ensuring the safety of Residents and Stakeholders of the FCT.

3. We are not oblivious of the approaching Yuletide season; hence the Command has redoubled its efforts in terms of strategic deployment of men on the major highways, providing diligent patrols (motorized and foot), robust stop and search operations, strategic raids of black spots, tactical land/aerial surveillance, joint operations with sister agencies, collaboration with community stakeholders and other covert means to ensure a crime-free Christmas and New Year celebration within the FCT.

4. It is pertinent to inform you that, the Counter-Kidnapping Operations are still on-going to dislodge the kidnappers’ and their bases. The Command will not leave any stone unturned until we rid the FCT of crime and criminality. In addition to this, members of the public are reminded that the ban on Fireworks/Knock-outs is still in force.

5. I will also use this medium to appeal to the public to ensure that they properly scrutinize domestic applicants such as drivers, house helps and especially security guards before employing them, considering the new trend of crime committed by some of these domestic employees particularly against their employers and their family members.
