NIS Converts 509 Immigration Officers to Superintendent Cadre

The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service Muhammad Babandede MFR at the 3rd Conversion /Upgrading Course at the premier Immigration Training School Kano reiterated the need for the officers to put what they learnt into action, noting that the Service has invested so much into training and capacity development.

The CGI encouraged the participants to maximize the knowledge of ICT gained to uplift the standard expected of the service among other sister agencies without competing but complimenting each other wherever and whenever the need arises.

He in the same vein warned officers and men that as armed services we cannot afford to be careless with the weapon, hence all officers of the service will undergo drug test beginning with me, the CGI said’we shall not dismiss anyone at first discovery, but try to rehabilitate, if the fellow continued unrepentant’, administrative procedures will be followed and appropriate sanctions applied.

Visa on Arrival for Africans is a huge opportunity for Africans that are coming for legitimate businesses to thrive in countries other than their nations, and a means of Integration and cementing African brotherhood relationships thereby breaking down the barriers to free movement among fellow Africans.

The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service assured Nigerians that the Visa on Arrival will be handled professionally and adopting best known global practices to liberalized the Visa on Arrival regime without compromising National Security.

Presidential Amnesty granted by Mr President for Six(6)months from July, 2019 will expire in January, 2020,but registration will continue to enable every migrant get registered and remain in the country, any defaulter that refuses to take advantage of the opportunity will be removed from Nigeria.
