    PHOTOS: Again, Terrorists Kill Travellers, Abduct Aid Workers in Monguno Axis

    In what is suspected to be their new pattern of attacking innocent citizens, Boko Haram terrorists mount a checkpoint, disguise as security personnel and pick travellers for elimination or abduction.

    That was exactly what happened when the terrorists laid an ambush on Sunday after mounting a check point at Gasarwa village,in Monguno axis of BornoState.

    A witness to the incident in a telephone recording obtained by PRNigeria said: “The terrorists separated those they wanted to kill from those for abduction among the passengers before allowing others to go free.

    “We left Monguno at about 7 am. But on reaching Gasarwa, while heading to Maiduguri, we fell into a checking point staged by Boko Haram militants.

    “On our arrival to the scene, we met about 20 vehicles already on the queue. Three of the insurgents who speak fluents English while others speaking local language Kanuri and Hausa asked used to step down from our vehicles and requested for requested us to show our Identification card.

    “Those identified as soldiers, police, government, Christians and humanitarian workers were ask to step aside while civilians and local Marchants were selected and exempted.

    “Soldiers, Civilian JTF and Christians and the other aid workers were taken to the road side and killed instantly.

    “In my own vehicle, one person was identified, thought, his identification could not be verified whether he was a police man or a soldiers but he was among those who were shot dead by the militants.

    “They took our videos and pictures and documented us. Two of the insurgents who ask his colleagues to spare our lives, preached to us to repent from evil ways and join the forces of God in the quest to establish Islamic caliphate

    “We were later released around 10am. Apparently, I couldn’t tell you how many numbers of people that were abducted but they were aid workers.

    “One other person in the queue when we met at. Munguno checking point, we saw him crying and when we asked him he said his wife was among the women that were abducted.”
