Digital Literacy Advocacy Club Launched in Nigeria
The management of Africa’s first Tech Celebration and Discovery Magazine, TechMirror has launched a “Digital Literacy Advocacy Club”
The club according to the Head of Administration, Obinna Stephen Ezenwa, will work towards encouraging a more Digitally inclined society and use Online and offline advocacy to support the quest for a Digital Africa through creating Digital Champions.
Stephen noted that interested members of the public can register to become a member of the club by visiting TechMirrorMag.com.ng and clicking DLA Club.
Speaking also, the media head of the team, Olugbenga Toki noted that the initiative hopes to reach out to youths and students on the importance of Digital Literacy.
Olugbenga noted that with the push for Digital economies in Africa, the club sees a need to support the Digital quest.
“If you look at the importance of the new media, for instance, many persons who use it are not New Media literates and this has to stop. We need to start teaching the application of the knowledge they have and that is our goal”.
He stressed that nationwide Ambassadors will be unveiled in no long time to further the cause of the club.
Africa has been charged to build more Digital literates with countries like Nigeria and Rwanda leading the pursuit of the ideal.
