Youth Digest Receives 250 entries for Campus Journalism Awards 2020
The Youths Digest, the organiser of the Campus Journalism Awards (CJA) has received over 250 entries for the 2020 edition of the annual award event.
The Editor, Youths Digest, Gidado Yushau Shuaib said this year attracted a large number of entries for 15 categories of the award.
He said: “We have received 266 entries across the states of the federation and the Screening Committee headed by award-winning campus journalist, Alfred Olufemi is currently working to shortlist 30 finalists for the award.
“A Panel of Judges chaired by a veteran journalist, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, will painstakingly review the 30 finalists shortlisted for the winners on each category and the Campus Journalist of the Year.
“The nominees for the Campus Journalism Awards will be announced at Bolton White Hotel, Area 11, Abuja on Saturday 28th March, 2020 while the finalists list will be released soon.”

He also disclosed that the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu will be the Special Guest of Honour for the event while Comrade Auwal Musa Rafsanjani will be the Chief Host.
The theme for the 2020 CJA is “Press Freedom: Catalyst for Good Governance”.
“We are honoured to showcase and celebrate the outstanding campus journalists each year on the platform of the CJA.
“In the past three years, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to nurture and showcase young talents from across the country. Join us on Saturday, 28 March, 2020 at Bolton White Hotel as we reveal the nominees for the third edition of the Awards,” he said.
They will also be a launch/presentation of a book edited by Gidado Yushau Shuaib, Editor, Youths Digest, titled ‘Musings of Young Minds: A collection of articles by campus journalists, forward by Mallam Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, Executive Director, CISLAC at the event.
