Buratai seeks Israel’s Cooperation for counter-insurgency
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has solicited military cooperation from the Israeli Government to help prosecute the war against insurgency and other crimes perpetrated by criminal elements in the country.
Buratai, made the appeal at the COAS Conference Room, when he hosted the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Shimon Ben-Shoshan, at the Army Headquarters.

He said the Nigerian Army is willing to partner the Israeli Government to improve the capacity of its officers and men on cyber intelligence, and other key areas of military supports.
The Army Chief, lauded Israel for nurturing and sustaining the long-standing relationship in diverse of areas of bilateral cooperation with Nigeria, for over sixty years, pledging the support of the Nigerian Army to the Ambassador, and his country’s government.
Earlier in a remark, Mr. Ben-Shoshan, acknowledged the gallantry of Nigerian Army troops in the fight against Boko Haram terrorism in the North East.
He assured Buratai that the Israeli Government will partner and offer necessary military assistance to the Army, so as effectively fight insurgents, bandits and other criminals.
