We’ll use music to support Army’s fight against insurgency–PMAN
The Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN) says it is will use music to assist and support the Nigerian Army (NA) in its fight against insurgency and other violent crimes perpetrated by terrorists and criminal elements across the country.
PMAN noted that members of their association, through organising talk shows on various media platforms and production of songs, will soon be engaged in advocating good moral values, while also condemning negative social vices in the society.
Its President, Hajiya Amina Dangaji, gave the assurance on Wednesday when she led a delegation of the body to visit the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, at the Army Headquarters.
Dangaji, while speaking further emphasized the need for relevant authorities to tackle the menace of drug abuse among youths.
She pointed out that aside other factors such as poverty and unemployment, drug abuse has also contributed in fuelling the crisis of insurgency in the North East.
The PMAN President, who also bemoaned the indoctrination and brainwashing of youths by fake religious leaders to join terrorists groups, advised parents to strive in knowing the kind of friends their children associate with.
In his remark, Lt. Gen. Buratai, observed that music is a strategic instrument for social mobilization, youths education, while also fostering unity and engendering national development.
The COAS, while appreciating the officials of the association for the courtesy call, also urged them to join in the fight against corruption and extremism, among others.
