Police Enforce Kano Lockdown, Nab Car-snatching Syndicate in Anambra

Police Enforce Lockdown in Kano
In line with the directives of Kano State Government on total lockdown of the State for seven (7) days starting from Thursday 16th April, 2020 by 10:00pm, in order to curb the spread of Corona-Virus (Covid-19), the Commissioner of Police Kano State Command, CP Habu A. Sani, psc enjoined the good people of the State to adhere to the lockdown orders.

All markets are closed and all public gatherings are banned. No roaming about will be tolerated everywhere in the State. Only people on essential services will be allowed to move.

3- Adequate deployments of policemen and other security agencies have been done at various locations in the State to ensure compliance.

4- The lockdown is 24 hours daily and night hours are not excluded and the CP warns that transporters who defile the lockdown restriction order will face the full wrath of the law.

5- We solicit for full cooperation and support of the public in the discharge of our statutory duty. Members of the public are advice to obey this orders and remain law abiding.

Police Nab Car-Snatching Syndicate in Anambra

Arrested Five Suspects and recovers Two Firearms, a Toyota Corola and Tricycle allegedly snatched at gunpoint

It would be recalled that on the 3/4/2020 the Command paraded four members of a car snatching syndicate who specializes in snatching vehicles at gunpoint and selling same after dismantling and overhauling the vehicles to evade detection.

Consequently,discreet investigation by police detectives attached to Abagana division further led to the arrest of another three suspected members of the same syndicate including the gang leader as follows,

(i). Ikechukwu Nwabueze ‘m’ aged 38yrs of ukpo mmili village Ifite Dunu in Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State,
(ii).Uzoma Okani ‘m’ aged 26 years of Okpolo, Orlu in imo State and,
(iii). Uzoma Ebele ‘m’ 29 years of Abara Okpolo, Orlu in Imo State respectively.

Exhibits recovered from the Suspects includes one Golden coloured Toyota Corolla Car with REG NO:ENU 158 EQ allegedly snatched from one Mr Ifeanyi Anthony Onuorah ‘m’ of Blessed Estate Oze, Nkwele Ezunanka along Eke Nweje Ogidi on 19th March 2020.This brought the total number of exhibits recovered from the syndicate to three while Seven suspects were arrested.

ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECTS AND RECOVERY OF FIREARMS
On 15/4/2020 at about 930am,following a tip off,Police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested two robbery suspects as follows,
(i).Ugochukwu Nwali ‘m’ aged 29 years and,
{ii). Ikechukwu Aneke ‘m’ aged 39 years.

The Suspects had on same date at about 11:45pm allegedly snatched at gunpoint a tricycle belonging to one Ochoyo Baba Sunday ‘m’ aged 27 years. along Oba old road by airport Oba.

Meanwhile, Exhibits recovered from the suspects include the robbed tricycle, one locally made double barrel shot gun and a fabricated gun.

All cases are under investigations after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.
