Lockdown: Women Radio Assists Arepo Community With Relief Items

As part of effort to cushion the effect of Coronavirus lockdown, Women Radio, in partnership with Maami, has donated relief materials to vulnerable women and their families in Arepo community of Ogun state.

The beneficiaries, mostly vulnerable women, received rice, beans, oil, salt, garri and other food items from the donors.

It was gathered that social distancing was observed during the distribution process in a bid to avert any possible transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

The local police station in the community was not left, as the Women Radio delegation thanked them for protecting the community.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude over the kind gesture, thanking the radio staff for remembering them.

Similarly, in a bid to alleviate the hardship of the widows, Women Radio has partnered Almanah Hope foundation and Maami to give cash to widows, through the Covid-19 WidowsAID initiative.

The gesture, it was gathered, was aimed at providing the widows with adequate financial aid to empower them.
