COVID-19: Nollywood Artistes, Governor’s Wife Present Palliatives to Anambra Prison Inmates

The wife of the Governor of Anambra State Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano in her efforts to ameliorate the effect of Covid-19 pandemic on the vulnerable and less privileged, has visited the Medium Security Custodial Centre Nnewi with various kinds of food items, coolers of cooked food,hand sanitizers among others.

Mrs Obiano who was represented by Mrs Ndidi Mezue thanked the Nigerian Correctional Service for the great work they are doing to give humane custody to the inmates. She also said that among the items donated to the Centre as palliative to Covid-19 includes a life cow which will be delivered shortly.

Similarly, veteran artiste Patience Ozokwor aka Mama G, led other artistes under the aegis of Senator Ifeanyi Uba FOUNDATION on a visit to the Custodial Centre.

They handed over a donation of bags of rice, beans and some cartons of noodles for the inmates as the foundations way of identifying with the inmates during this period of pandemic.
Artistes like Kenneth Muonago, China-Rainbow,Zubby Micheal and others were also in attendance.

Receiving them on behalf of the officer incharge Custodial Centre ACC Uche Agwu,the second in command CSC Uzonwanne Adindu, thanked Her Excellency for her magnanimity as well as the Senator Ifeanyi UBA foundation for identifying and partnering the NCoS to ameliorate the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the inmates.

The General provost on behalf of the other inmates (who could not witness the presence of these visitors because of the ban on visits), thanked the donors for remembering them and prayed God to continue to keep them safe from the scourge of the pandemic.
