Observe Eid Prayer in Your Homes, Emir of Ilorin tells Kwara Muslims
The Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, has directed Muslim brethren in Kwara State to observe the Eid-il-Fitri prayer at their various homes.
This, according to him, will help flatten the curve of COVID-19, a global health emergency ravaging human population.
Alh. Gambari, who is the Vice President General of Jama’atul Nasril Islam, made this known in a statement in Ilorin, on Wednesday.

The statement of the Chairman, Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers reads: “The Emir, in conjunction with the Council of Ulamau in Kwara State, has directed all Muslim faithfuls in the State to observe their two Eid-il-Fitri raka’ats (Nafilat) in their various homes or areas of domicile with members of their family only.
“Muslims are reminded that the first rakat of the Nafilat attracts seven (7) Allahu Akbar, while the second and final rakat attracts reading 6.
“The directive of the State Government concerning keeping social distancing, among others, at this time of Covid-19 is aimed at protecting lives, while public safety must be complied with by the worshippers.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Gambari has also congratulated the entire Muslim community in the State, for witnessing the 2020 Ramadan, and prayed Almighty Allah accepts their righteous acts of worship.
