Gov Bello Donates PPEs to NCos in Niger State
His Excellency Alh Abubakar Sani Bello the Governor of Niger State has graciously directed the immediate release of Personal Protective Equipments for the fight against covid 19 pandemic at the two designated custodial centres in the state.

The Governor gave the directive during a meeting with the controller of corrections, Nigerian correctional service Niger State command, Labbo Ibrahim Maradun on Thursday 18th June, 2020 in his office at Government house Minna.

The development was sequel to the Controller General of Corrections Ja’afaru Ahmed’s directive contained in a radio message recently on response strategies for the resumption of admission of new inmates into our designated custodial centres accross the country.

Controller Maradun, has in the last few days intensified effort to ensure compliance with the CGC’s directive where he met with the key stakeholders of the criminal justice Administration including the chief judge and the commissioner of police of the state in order to fashion out modalities for the take-up of the strategy.

The equipments released to the service through the office of the chairman taskforce committee on covid 19 who is also the secretary to the Niger State Government Alh Ahmed Ibrahim Matane on Thursday 18th June, 2020 are as follows;
3.three cartons of hand sanitizer containing 24 bottles each.
6. six Infrared thermometers.
1500. one thousand five hundred facemasks.
100. one hundred handgloves.
3. three packets of liquid soap.
1.one bag of 10kg Ariel detergent.
6.six protective goggles.
10.ten protective jackets and
3.three Veronica tap buckets.
These were in addition to the training of ten (10) personnel of the service to man the isolation units. Fumigation of the centres was also carried out by the Niger State Environmental protection Agency (NISEPA).

CCS Maradun, on behalf of the CGC’s Ja’afaru Ahmed thanked the Niger State Government and HE Abubakar Sani Bello for the donations assuring him of strict adherence to the covid 19 pandemic protocol and guidelines to curb the spread of Corona virus at our custodial centres, the state and the nation at large.

In another separate development, the state command received 3.three additional operational vehicles from the service national headquarters Abuja comprising 1.one escort Hilux van Jack model and 2.two mini green Maria.
Controller Maradun expressed Joy to the CGC’s Ja’afaru Ahmed led administration for the gesture as according to him, this will go along way to facilitate quick dispensation of justice by promptly conveying inmates to and from the Courts. CCS Maradun further said that the service has never had it so good like this where all necessary support needed for the smooth running of our core mandate is giving much attention deserved.
The controller was accompanied to HE by the Head of medical and health unit of the command DCC Riskat Kadiri.
