On 20/06/2020 at about 22:30hrs, DPO Batsari led Operations “Puff Adder” and “Sharan Daji” to Salihawar Dan-Alhaji village, Batsari LGA of Katsina state based on the report that bandits numbering about eighteen (18) have attacked the village, kidnapped two females and rustled cows. The teams chased the hoodlums on the way into the forest and engaged them in a gun duel. The team succeeded and rescued one Laure Alhaji Amadu, ‘f’, aged 55yrs of the same address and recovered eighteen (18) cows and ten (10) rams. Search parties are still combing the area with a view to rescue the other kidnapped victim. Investigation is ongoing.
RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED VILLAGE HEAD OF BARKIYA VILLAGE, KURFI LGA OF KATSINA STATE: On 23/06/2020 at about 22:30hrs, bandits numbering ten (10) attacked the residence of village Head of Barkiya village, Kurfi LGA of Katsina state and kidnapped the village head, one Alh. Magaji Ibrahim Barkiya, ‘m’, aged 72yrs of Barkiya village, Kurfi LGA of Katsina state. The DPO led a team of Counter Terrorists Units in collaboration with local vigilante, chased and engaged the hoodlums into a fierce gun duel. In the spur of the moment, the hoodlums took to their heels and escaped into the forest which led to the rescue of the victim unhurt and has since been reunited with his family. Investigation is ongoing.
HUSBAND KILLED WIFE AND DUMPED CORPSE IN A WELL AT DABAWA VILLAGE DUTSINMA LGA OF KATSINA STATE: On 14/06/2020 at about 02:00hrs, a distress call was received that one Abdulrahaman Abdulkarim, ‘m’, aged 40yrs of Madabu village, Dabawa, Dutsinma LGA of Katsina state killed his junior wife one Wasila Sada, ‘f’, aged 19yrs and dumped her dead body in a Well. Consequently, DPO Dutsinma led a team of detectives to the scene, recovered the body and took it to the General Hospital where it was confirmed dead by the attending physician after post mortem examination. Suspect has been arrested and is assisting the police in their investigation. Investigation is ongoing.
WIFE POISONED HER STEP SON AT DANDUME LGA OF KATSINA STATE: On 19/06/2020 at about 16:00hrs, one Ibrahim Sani, ‘m’, of Jidadi village, Dandume LGA of Katsina state reported at Dandume Police Division, that his second wife, one Murja Ibrahim,’f’, aged 20yrs of the same address, poisoned his son Habibu Ibrahim, ‘m’, aged 8yrs. A team of detectives visited the scene and removed the body to General Hospital, Funtua where it was confirmed dead by the attending physician. Suspect has been arrested and is assisting the police in their investigation,. Investigation is ongoing.
ON THE FIGHT AGAIST RAPE, UNNATURAL OFFENCE AND OTHER SEXUAL OFFENCES: Gentlemen of the Press, it may interest you to know that the Command under the leadership of CP Sanusi Buba, psc, has been recording tremendous achievements in the fight against rape, unnatural offence and other sexual offences especially against young children. Between the period of April to June the command has arrested over forty suspected sexual offenders who have committed various crime against women and young children. The summary of such cases are hereby appended below:
40YR OLD MAN RAPED 9YR OLD GIRL IN KATSINA: On 16/04/2020 at about 11:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Abbatti Abdullahi, ‘m’, aged 40yrs of Sabuwar Kasuwa Quarters, Katsina based on the report that he deceived a 9yr old girl of the same address, took her into his house and raped her. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Suspect has been charged to court for prosecution.
65YR OLD MAN RAPED 8YR OLD GIRL IN MAGAM VILLAGE KANKIA LGA OF KATSINA STATE: On 24/05/2020 at about 21:00hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Ibrahim Tasi’u, ‘m’, aged 65yrs of Magam, Kankia LGA of Katsina state who lured an 8yr old girl of the same address into the bush and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her. Suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and has been arraigned before the court for prosecution.
SMASHING/ARREST OF NOTORIOUS SYNDICATE OF GANG RAPE SUSPECTS: On 26/05/2020 at about 14:00hrs, the Command succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate that specializes in attacking young women and girls and gang raped them. Members of the syndicate met their waterloo when they seduced a 12yr old girl and gang raped her. Suspects arrested are: 1. Idris Usman, m, aged 30yrs 2. Ibrahim Ihedgbo, 37yrs, 3. Aliyu Musa, 25yrs and 4. Garba Abdulmumini, m, 30yrs all of Dansoda village, Dandume LGA of Katsina stae. Victim was taken to General Hospital, Funtua for treatment. In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of the offence and have been arraigned in court for prosecution.
MAN FORCEFULLY RAPED A 14YR OLD GIRL AFTER INTIMIDATING HER WITH A KNIFE: On 24/06/2020 at about 16:00hrs, based on tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Auwalu Sulaiman, ‘m’, aged 21yrs of Shawaki village, Bakori LGA of Katsina state based on the report that about six months ago suspect blocked and attacked the victim while she was on her way to the farm, intimidated her with a knife and took into the farm, tied her hands with her head tie and forcefully raped her as a result of which victim is presently six months old pregnant. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.
19yr OLD MAN RAPED HIS OWN STEP SISTER IN KATSINA: On 10/05/2020 at about 11:00hrs, one Lawal Abubakar, m, of Rahamawa Quarters, Katsina reported at Sabon Gari Division, Katsina that on the same date at about 11:00hrs, his biological son one Ibrahim Lawal, aged 19yrs raped his 10yr old step sister. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and has already been arraigned before the court for prosecution.
ARREST OF A SERIAL RAPIST AT DANDUME: On 04/06/2020 at about 14:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Muhammed Sani Adamu, alias ‘Babangida’ ‘m’, aged 33yrs of Machika village, Sabuwa LGA of Katsina state, a serial rapist, who on several occassion lured a 12yr old girl into his house and deceitfylly had unlawful carnal knowledge of her. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.
20YR OLD MAN RAPED A 5YR OLD GIRL AT BAKORI LGA OF KATSINA STATE: On 6/6/2020 at about 21:50hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Aliyu Lawal, alias “Daddy” ‘m’, aged 20yrs of Yar – Yara Quarters, Bakori LGA of Katsina state who deceitfully lured a 5yr old girl into an uncompleted building and forcefully had an unlawful carnal knowledge of her. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and has already been arraigned before the court for prosecution.
A 25YR OLD MAN RAPED AN 8YR OLD GIRL AT KANKARA LGA OF KATSINA STATE: On 2/06/2020 at about 19:30hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Amadu Amadu, m, aged 25yrs of Wawar Kaza village, Kankara LGA of Katsina state who lured an 8yr old girl, who went into his house hawking for beans cake and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her. Victim sustained injury in her private as a result of the rape. Suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and has already been charged to court for prosecution.
A 65YR OLD MAN HAD A CARNAL KNOWLEDGE OF THREE (3) YOUNG BOYS AGAINST THE ORDER OF NATURE: On 16/06/2020 at about 14:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Abdullahi Inusa, ‘m’, aged 65yrs of Kasuwar Mata Quarters, Funtua LGA of Katsina state who on different occasions lured three (3) boys between the ages of 7 to 9yrs into an uncompleted filling station at Kasuwar Mata Quarters, Funtua LGA of Katsina state and had unlawful carnal kn hiowledge of them against the order of nature. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and has been arraigned before the court for prosecution.
30yr OLD HOMOSEXUAL ARRESTED FOR SODOMY AGAINST A 15YR OLD: On 22/06/2020 at about 16:17hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Muhammad Shafi’u, Yahaya, ‘m’, aged 39yrs of Masanawa Quarters, Katsina who lured one Ahmed Danlami, m, aged 15yrs of Abukur village into his house at Masanawa Quarters, Katsina and had unlawful carnal knowledge of him against the order of nature. Victim was taken to Abukur hospital where the victim was confirmed to have been sexually assaulted. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.
FATHER ARRESTED A RAPIST ON TOP OF HIS DAUGHTER AT MANI LGA OF KATSINA STATE: On 23/06/2020 at about 10:40hrs, one Ilyasu Tasi’u, m, of Jachi village Mani LGA of Katsina state reported at Mani Division that he heard the shouting of his 13yr old daughter behind his house, and he went out to check, he met one Aliyu Shu’aibu, m, aged 25yrs of Bagiwa village, Mani LGA of Katsina state, on top of her, covered her mouth with a cloth, forcefully and unlawfully having carnal knowledge of her. Victim was taken to Mani Hospital were the doctor confirmed a case of direct penetration and sign of blood rushing from her private part. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.
RAPE: On 09/06/2020 about 13:30hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Mustapha Mansir, ‘m’, aged 45yrs of Gachi Quarters, Kankia LGA of Katsina state that on the 8/06/2020 at about 16:30hrs, the suspect lured a 9yr old girl into his house and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and has been arraigned before the court for prosecution.
RAPE: On 04/06/2020 at about 10:30hours one Abdullahi Ado ‘m’ aged 50yrs of Shagarai village, Kaita L.G.A of Katsina state reported at Kaita police station that on 03/06/2020 at about 17:00hours One Musa Mamman ‘M’ aged 35 years old of Waiwaya village, Kaita L.G.A of Katsina state, attacked his 12yrs old daughter, intimidated her and forcefully had unlawful sexually intercourse with her. Investigation is ongoing.
RAPE; On 17/06/2020 at about 19:30hours, one Bilkisu Bala ‘F’ of Sabon gari quarters, Kusada L.G.A of Katsina state reported at Kusada Division, that one Mannir Magaji, ‘M’ aged 25yrs of Santarama Village, deceived her 17yrs old daughter and lured her into court premises in Kusada town and had sexual intercourse with her as a result she conceived four (4) months pregnancy. Investigation is ongoing.
RAPE; On 07/06/2020 at about 14:00hours, One Yahaya Da’u, ‘M’, aged 38yrs of Kerau quarters Katsina came to the Central police Station katsina and reported that on the same date at about 12:00hours, one of his sister Bilkisu Da’u called him and notified him that one Abubakar Ashiru ‘M’ aged 21 years old of K/Marusa quarters katsina took one Hadiza Da’u aged 17 years old of Kerau quarters katsina behind their house and had sexual intercourse with her. In the cause of investigation the victim revealed that one Kabiru Umar ‘M’ aged 34 years old of Kerau quarters katsina also had sexual intercourse with her three (3) month back. Investigation is ongoing to ascertain the crime.
RAPE:- On 23/04/2020 at about 0100hrs, one Abdullahi Sani ‘M’ aged 27yrs old Hayin-gada quarters Dutsen-Ma town reported at the police station Dutsen-ma that on 19/04/2020 at about 1200hrs while his wife by name Naja’atu Abdullahi ‘F’ aged 20yrs of the same address was sleeping, one Shafi’u Abubakar ‘M’ aged 20yrs of the same address went and entered in to the house and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her which is contrary to section 254 of Katsina state. Case is under investigation.
Rape:- On 22/06/2020 about 0800hrs the Command succeeded in arresting one Hayatu Umar, ‘m’, aged 21yrs of Kamri village, Bindawa L.G.A Katsina State who forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of a 13yrs old girl in Marina farm by attacking her with a knife and intimidated her that he will kill her if she refuse to agree. Case under investigation.
Rape:- On 15/06/2020 about 1400hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Mohammed Lawal, ‘m’, aged 46yrs of Unguwar Runji Quarters, Kankia who deceived and lured his Nephew one Amina Haruna ‘f’ aged 13yrs and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her, as a result she conceived a pregnancy. The victim was taken to hospital for medical examination and confirmed pregnant by the medical Doctor. Suspect confessed to the commission of the crime. Case is under investigation.
