National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)are working to ensure seamless inclusion of Corps Members as beneficiaries of the NHIS programme as directed by Federal Government.

General Shuaibu expressed delight that out-of-pocket expenses and other extra charges would not affect the Corps beneficiaries of the programme.

Earlier, the NHIS Executive Secretary, Dr Mohammad Nasiru Gambo stated that the partnership would enable Corps Members to register online as they register for Mobilisation into the NYSC Scheme.

He said a framework for Corps Members’ inclusion based on the NHIS Group Individual and Family Social Health Insurance Programme (GIFSHIP), which would involve different critical stakeholders in the health sector has been designed.

In his resolve to improving the welfare of Corps Members, General Ibrahim approved the procurement of prosthetic limbs for Nurudeen Tahir which has been delivered to the Corps Member.

Sadauki, who lauded General Ibrahim for his visit to Nurudeen while on admission at the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo, also commended his compassionate efforts towards rescutsitating him back to normal life.

“We are highly moved by your compassionate gesture. We cannot thank you enough, the Gwarzo Community and Nurudeen’s parents are appreciative of your gesture”.

“Thank you for all the support right from when he was on admission up till now”, Sadauki said.

Speaking further, Dr Sadauki also commended General Ibrahim over his efforts in combating the menace of unqualified graduates trying to infiltrate the NYSC Mobilization process.

In his response, General Ibrahim stated that the NYSC Scheme under his leadership would not undermine the welfare of any Corps Member.

He said the NYSC is known for effective welfare of Corps Members within its jurisdiction.

“We will continue to act as a father to Nurudeen and we will do our best to ensure his full recovery”.

“We must demonstrate good leadership over the children that are placed under our watch”, General Ibrahim stated.
