Buratai Inspects 5 MRAPs Manufactured at Army Depot
Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai have inspected five newly-manufactured Nigerian Army (NA) Mines Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs) at the Command Engineering Depot, in Kaduna State.
Buratai, who visited the Depot, during a working tour on Friday, also assessed some MRAPs undergoing fabrication.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of progress made so far, urging officers, soldiers and civilian staff of the Depot to upscale the level of achievements recorded.

The COAS, was conducted round the Depot by the Commandant, Major General Sunday Araoye, and the Director General, Defence Industries Corporation (DICON), Major General Victor Ezugwu, where he also inspected the repair of some malfunctioned back-loaded Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), troops carrying vehicles and other combat vehicles.
Both the new and the repaired MRAPs, APCs, as well as the repaired troops’ carrying vehicles, were test driven and proved to be in good working condition.
While briefing the Army Chief at the Depot Smart Factory, Maj. Gen. Araoye, said a state of the art 3-D printing machine for vehicles’ parts and medical implants has been installed.
“We have also manufactured a surveillance vehicle with drone attached to it to enhance NA’s operations,” he added.
