Sports Council Approves Dec 3-18 for Edo 2020 Sport Festival

The two days National Council on Sports holding its 22nd meeting in Asaba, the Delta State capital has approved the 20th National Sports Festival tagged : “EDO 2020” from the opening of the Games village from Thursday, 3rd Dec, arrival for 1st phase Dec. 3-4, 2020, opening ceremony, Saturday, 5th Dec, competition days phase 1, comes up Dec 6-10, break and arrivals for 2nd phase comes up Friday, Dec, 11,and Competition days for phase 11 from Dec 12-16, 2020 and the closing ceremony for Thursday, Dec 17th, 2020 and closure of Games Village on Friday, Dec 18, 2020.

The HM, Mr Sunday Dare who is the Chairman of Council assured that all the guiding protocols of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid – 19 shall be full implemented. More so with all infrastructure being in place as confirmed by the National Assembly inspection visit to the state.

In a reassuring voice, the Deputy Gov of Edo state, Hon. Philip Shaibu who was also present at the meeting, rehoced the State’s readiness of daily testing of Covid-19 rules for all athlete and officials who will attend the competition.

It is indeed heart warming that the long awaited NSF is holding this year 2020 as jointly approved the the National Council on Sports, today in Asaba.

The HM and all members present appreciated HE, the Gov of Delta state, Senator. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who on short notice granted approval for the hosting of the council in Asaba.
