Troops Thwart Terrorists’ Attempt at Mafa, Police Killed at Tunkushe
The Nigerian troops have thwarted an attempt by Boko Haram terrorists to attack a community in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno state.
The Militant on several gun trucks stormed the town at about 6pm.
PRNigeria gathered after a heavy gunfight, troops eliminated some of the terrorists and recovered their weapons.

The attackers suspected to be from the Islamic State in West Africa Province(ISWAP), came through Ajiri Mafa in an attempt to overrun the town.
Meanwhile, in another development, one police officer was killed by terrorists at Tunkushe village in the north-eastern part of Borno state.
The insurgents on motorcycles stormed the police checking point located about 20 kilometres to Maiduguri capital at 12 pm on motorcycles.
The terrorists also took away a police patrol vehicle
